Experience: I grew up playing hockey and just about every sport I could, building a lifelong appreciation for competition, staying active, and movement. That passion eventually carried into 7 years with the Canadian Armed Forces with 1 PPCLI, where physical training was the way of life. During that time, I got the opportunity to deploy multiple times, compete as part of the 3rd Canadian Division Shooting team, and represent the Brigade National Hockey Team overseas. It wasn’t until after the army- going through a knee surgery myself, and coaching clients with similar injuries, that I really leaned into the recovery aspect of training. My experience of “Train hard and push the limits” has given me great incite of how the body can adapt, but also how crucial recovery is for success and growth. I still play hockey to this day, am stronger than ever and am now on my journey as an amateur golfer!
Training Philosophy: “Optimizing recovery, to train stronger and smarter.” Supporting athletes and everyday people in finding the balance between training, recovery, and moving better to perform their best long term. One simple question that changed the way I look at training forever: “Do you take your recovery as seriously as your training?”
Favourite Post-Workout Meal: Big Pasta guy, would have to go with a Mushroom Alfredo with spinach cheese ravioli and spicy chicken topped with parmesan!
